Wilde Lake pushed their score all the way to 58 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-58 to Urbana.
Meanwhile, Oakland Mills' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howard. While losing is never fun, Oakland Mills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Howard is ranked 121st).
Wilde Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Oakland Mills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Wilde Lake came out on top in a nail-biter against Oakland Mills in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 56-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilde Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
