Parker added to the longest winning streak in Coastal this week by beating Bishop's, 35-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Lancers.
Santa Fe Christian was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Eagles defeated La Jolla Country Day 55-21.
The Torreys' dynamic duo of Braxton Burmeister and Brennan Goring proved to be unstoppable against Santa Fe Christian, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Burmeister threw for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns and Goring had 79 yards receiving. Cole Goldklang helped La Jolla Country Day's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 26 yards.
Bulla Graft was a beast in the backfield as the Knights lost to Parker.
Stevie Hinshaw was a key player and the best on defense this week as Bishop's fell to John Morrison's team. The 6-foot-2 senior grabbed 1 sack.
Graft provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Joel Allen's team lost to the Lancers.
Horizon Christian Academy's Josh Gaudet and Anthony Oseguera have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Gaudet has thrown for 1,189 yards this season, while Oseguera has 31 catches for 469 yards. The Knights' Graft leads the league in rushing yards with 1,125.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Panthers' Oseguera goes up against Parker's Khaleel Jenkins.
Next week's game between Horizon Christian Academy and the Lancers will feature a good passing match up as Gaudet will test his arm against Jenkins' defensive ability.
An important game coming up in Coastal this week will be when Parker takes on Lamont Butler's team. At the moment, the Lancers are in first, while the Panthers are in fifth.
Jon Wallace's team took down La Jolla Country Day 55-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tony Miro ran for 146 yards and caught 1 pass for 29 yards during the win.
