Northview and Wilson are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Vikings will square off against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Northview will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Northview barely beat Rowland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Raiders on Thursday.

Clementina Duran made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Northview let Mila Elizalde and Beatriz Diaz run wild. Elizalde went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double, while Diaz went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Diaz has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Joy Sanchez, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilson). Everything went their way against West Covina on Thursday as they made off with an 11-2 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Northview has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season. As for Wilson, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 7-9.

Everything went Northview's way against Wilson in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as Northview made off with a 14-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
