The Eastlake Falcons lost to the Pebble Hills Spartans back in February of 2023, but the Eastlake Falcons didn't allow the Pebble Hills Spartans the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Eastlake skirted past Pebble Hills 44-41. The win was all the more spectacular given Eastlake's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Pebble Hills is ranked 277th).
Eastlake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mateo Lares, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Aaron Vargas, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Eastlake now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Pebble Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Eastwood the next time they take the court. Eastlake will host Eastwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pebble Hills will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
