The Pocono Mountain East Cardinals can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past East Stroudsburg North with a 70-66 victory. The win was just what Pocono Mountain East needed coming off of a 71-24 defeat in their prior match.
Loss or not, East Stroudsburg North got some senior leadership from Bryceson Dobie and Nate Wilder. Dobie scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Wilder. scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Wilder has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Wayne King was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Pocono Mountain East now has a winning record of 7-6. As for East Stroudsburg North, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pocono Mountain East will face off against Palmerton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. East Stroudsburg North's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Pleasant Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while East Stroudsburg North is ranked 164th).
