The Carle Place Frogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 64-22 victory over West Hempstead. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Carle Place has managed all season.
Carle Place got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caitlin Leary out in front who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Leary has scored at least 25% of Carle Place's points. Another player making a difference was Milana D'alessandro, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Carle Place pushed their record up to 3-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for West Hempstead, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carle Place will square off against Locust Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Hempstead will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Rockaway at 12:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
