Elkhorn hadn't done well against Burlington recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Elks put the hurt on the Demons with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Elks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Elkhorn, bringing their record up to 10-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Burlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Looking ahead, Burlington will head out on the road to face off against Beloit Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn will be paying especially close attention to the Demons' contest: after the Demons face off against the Purple Knights, they'll take on Elkhorn again at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
