Heritage and the Thunder are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Heritage Timberwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Mountain View Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Heritage was beaten by the Falcons 62-28. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Falcons are ranked 112th).
Meanwhile, Mountain View was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-44 to the Hilanders.
Mountain View's loss came about despite a quality game from Nina Peterson, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Peterson hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Thompson, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.
Heritage was dealt a bruising 70-30 loss at the hands of the Thunder when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Now that Heritage knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
