Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Pirates vs. Irrigon Knights

The Riverside Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Irrigon Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Riverside ended up a good deal behind Grant Union and lost 46-32.

Despite their loss, Riverside saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Justien Tido, who posted nine points and five boards, was perhaps the best of all. Tido is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Abrianna Lomeli was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Irrigon entered their matchup against South Wasco County on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Irrigon might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting South Wasco County an easy 53-32 victory.

Irrigon's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5. As for Riverside, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Riverside strolled past Irrigon in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a score of 49-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
