The St. Paul Central Minutemen were the 58-47 winner over the Washburn Millers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. St. Paul Central was outmatched by Washburn on the road and fell 66-22. St. Paul Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.
Several Minutemen players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sasha Ickes, who scored 7 points. Ickes scored a full 31.8% of St. Paul Central's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kyla Parker was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
This is the second loss in a row for St. Paul Central and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Washburn, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Kennedy the next time they take the court. St. Paul Central will head out to face Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Washburn will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
