Omaha Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 81-54 win over the Lincoln High Links. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Omaha Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lenox Haynes, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. Haynes has become a key player for Omaha Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ike Ackerman, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points and seven boards.

Omaha Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Omaha Central's record now sits at 10-12. As for Lincoln High, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Central will head out to challenge Lincoln Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Southwest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Omaha Central likes a good challenge. As for Lincoln High, they will venture away from home to face off against Omaha North at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
