This season hasn't been kind to The Reicher Catholic Cougars, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They were outmatched by Bishop Gorman on the road and fell 54-7. Reicher Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.
When it comes to explaining why Reicher Catholic lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jace Darling. Despite the final result, he picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Darling's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Leading Bishop Gorman to victory were Kennedy Davis and Eil Saurette. Davis rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Saurette rushed for 25 yards and three touchdowns. David Phillips did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Reicher Catholic's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Bishop Gorman, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reicher Catholic will take on Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will head out on the road to face off against First Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
