The Proctor Raiders couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Rome Free Academy on Tuesday, falling 59-30. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Proctor in their matchups with Rome Free Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Rome Free Academy found their leader in underclassman Haylee Bostwick, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bostwick has scored at least 25% of Rome Free Academy's points. Ariana Bohning was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Proctor's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Rome Free Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Proctor will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Academy of the Holy Names at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rome Free Academy, they will take on Henninger at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
