Training Center Christian was handed a three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Angels on Friday. Training Center Christian blew past the Angels 60-28 on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Training Center Christian had established a 28 point advantage.
Training Center Christian can attribute much of their success to Andrew Bryan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Creed Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lopez is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Bryan, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Ozanam can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They really took it to Guadalupe Centers for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-20 win at home. That looming 59-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ozanam yet this season.
Talan Olmstead continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 22 rebounds. He also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Skylar Horn, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Training Center Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Ozanam, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Tuesday's match is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Training Center Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ozanam struggles in that department as they've been averaging 40.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Training Center Christian strolled past the in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 67-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Training Center Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
