The Albuquerque Academy Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Albuquerque Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Albuquerque Academy stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Menaul as Albuquerque Academy made off with a 44-21 victory.
Meanwhile, Valley waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Bernalillo 70-50. Valley pushed the score to 55-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Bernalillo cut but never quite recovered from.
Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeh Richardson out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Giana Roybal, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists.
Albuquerque Academy pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Valley, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Albuquerque Academy strolled past Valley in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 49-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Albuquerque Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
