Even though the Troup Tigers have not done well against the Beckville Bearcats recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Troup walked away with a 40-29 victory over Beckville. The win made it back-to-back wins for Troup.
Troup was led to victory by Bailey Blanton and Qhenja Jordan. Blanton scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, while Jordan scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of ZaQuirah Jordan, who scored 6 points.
Despite the loss, Beckville still got an impressive performance from Lexi Barr, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals. Barr is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Troup now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Beckville, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Troup will be playing at home against Groveton at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. Groveton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 994th, while Troup is ranked 496th). As for Beckville, they will take on Center at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
