The Aletheia Christian Academy Lions lost against the Central Christian Saints back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Aletheia Christian Academy was dealt a 54-25 loss at the hands of Central Christian. While losing is never fun, Aletheia Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 348th in Florida, while Central Christian is ranked 138th in Alabama).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Glazier, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. Glazier is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Violet Martin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Central Christian found their leader in underclassman Hayes Turner, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was Turner's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Lippincott, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Aletheia Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Central Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Aletheia Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Jones Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m.
