The Birchwood Bobcats will be playing at home against the Winter Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
After a string of three wins, Birchwood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Flambeau by a score of 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Birchwood has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Winter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Lake Holcombe 112-96. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Winter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Curtis Thompson, who scored 39 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. Gunnar Greuel was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 33 rebounds.
Birchwood's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Winter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Birchwood didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Winter in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 80-75 win. Does Birchwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Winter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
