North Park scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vail Christian 67-25 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Dezirae Gonzales continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-15 from long range and dropping a triple-double on 42 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Park's points. Jenna Sessions was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Gilpin County gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Lyons at home to the tune of 58-21. While fans of Gilpin County might be used to big wins, the 37-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
North Park's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Gilpin County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
North Park took a serious blow against Gilpin County in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 60-24. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Park was down 41-10.
