It was a good run, but the Northeastern Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Catholic.
Despite the loss, Northeastern still got an impressive performance from Jasmine Felton, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Felton's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jada Simpson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Northeastern will be playing at home against Hertford County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hertford County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Northeastern is ranked 53rd). As for Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Collegiate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
