Softball Recap: Dexter Has No Trouble Against Searsport

Dexter had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Searsport on Monday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 16-6 win. Considering the Tigers have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Desiree Adams was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Dunton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one run.

Dexter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dexter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Searsport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dexter will venture away from home to square off against Foxcroft Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Searsport, they will face off against Sumner at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
