The Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They strolled past Nazareth with points to spare, taking the game 92-77. The win was nothing new for Monsignor Scanlan as they're now sitting on four straight.
Despite the loss, Nazareth still got an impressive performance from M. Moore, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Moore also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa McManus, who scored 20 points.
Monsignor Scanlan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Nazareth, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monsignor Scanlan will face off against Mary Louis Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mary Louis Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Monsignor Scanlan likes a good challenge. As for Nazareth, they will head out on the road to square off against St. John's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
