Perry Meridian is a perfect 4-0 against Greenfield-Central since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will square off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Perry Meridian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
On Wednesday, Perry Meridian earned a 9-4 win over Greenwood.
Jackson McDaniel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Aiden Kerr was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Acosta was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Greenfield-Central fell victim to New Palestine and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Dragons. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost eight in a row.
Greenfield-Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Hayden Kidd also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Perry Meridian's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Greenfield-Central, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Perry Meridian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Greenfield-Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Perry Meridian beat Greenfield-Central 3-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
