Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hagerman). They walked away with an 80-70 victory over the Elida Tigers on Saturday. Hagerman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Aguilar, who went 11 for 23 on his way to 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Aguilar has scored at least a third of Hagerman's points. Jevon Aguilar was another key player, putting up 19 points along with six assists and five steals.
Hagerman was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elida only posted ten assists.
Elida's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hardy Fraze, who posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, and Hayden Wolf, who put up 16 points. Hagerman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-18 victory against Dexter on the 17th. Elida and Mountainair will compete for holiday cheer at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Elida is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.
