Layleen Quirino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Paityn Wade was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and four RBI. Mila Castaneda was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
El Cajon Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Ramona, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1.
