The Liberty Patriots waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 75-64 win over Las Vegas. Given Liberty's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Las Vegas is ranked 31st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Aquiningoc, who scored 15 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aquiningoc has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaeden Castillero, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Las Vegas lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tayshaun Jackson. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with five assists and three steals. That was a full 42.2% of Las Vegas' points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmarrick Davenport, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Las Vegas, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-15.
Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Las Vegas also has no future games currently scheduled.
