The Upper Scioto Valley Rams will head out to take on the Continental Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Continental took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Upper Scioto Valley, who comes in off a win.
Upper Scioto Valley took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Elgin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Comets on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since May 23, 2025.

Beau Sanders made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Sanders was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caiden Lowery, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Continental was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Kalida, falling 17-0.
Continental saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Pitney, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
The victory made it two in a row for Upper Scioto Valley and bumps their season record up to 2-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Continental, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Upper Scioto Valley couldn't quite finish off Continental in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 5-3. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
