The Poway Titans will head out to square off against the Mission Hills Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Poway is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Poway's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over San Pasqual.

Mya McGowan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Aubrey Stiritz looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Sophia Burmeister was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Addie Queen was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mission Hills ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Del Norte 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Grizzlies have posted against the Nighthawks since May 28, 2021.
Like Poway, Mission Hills also got a great game from a two-way player: Oloa Motas. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Motas was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Russell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lillian Sengsouly, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
Mission Hills now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Poway, their record is now 15-4.
