Prescott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jessieville Lions. Even though they lost, the Curley Wolves' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.8 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Dalton Stockton was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Wes Cornelius and Owen Glass stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cornelius got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double, while Glass got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That double was Cornelius' first of the season. Curtis Stockton was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
