Rushville-Industry will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Bushnell-Prairie City on Friday. The Rockets put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-2 win. Considering the Rockets have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Devin Vogler was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Charlee Gerleman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rushville-Industry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bushnell-Prairie City only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central suffered their biggest loss since April 8th on Thursday. They lost 10-3 to Williamsville. The Bluejays haven't had much luck with the Bullets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Aubrey Vogel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple.
PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Rushville-Industry, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rushville-Industry hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rushville-Industry couldn't quite get it done against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 3-0. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
