The Northland Christian Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Emery/Weiner 58-10 on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Northland Christian as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Northland Christian was led to victory by Savannah Hardwick and Gabby White. Hardwick scored 26 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while White dropped a double-double on 26 points and 21 rebounds. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for her. Sami Hearn was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 13 rebounds.
Northland Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Emery/Weiner, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northland Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lutheran North at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Emery/Weiner won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Austin Royals HomeSchool at 3:00 p.m. on January 5th. Austin Royals HomeSchool is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
