Charlotte Elite Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Comenius Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Charlotte Elite Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 273 points over their last four matches.
Charlotte Elite Academy pushed their score all the way to 64 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-64 bruising from 1 of 1 Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (58), Charlotte Elite Academy still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Charlotte Elite Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jordan King, who scored 11 points along with six assists and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The match was King's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jared Taylor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Charlotte Elite Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as 1 of 1 Academy pulled down 23 offensive rebounds.
Comenius has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 51 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Judah Christian Academy 71-20 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-12.
Donovin Jones was on fire: he scored 28 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Spann, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Charlotte Elite Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Comenius, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Charlotte Elite Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Comenius in their previous matchup back in February, winning 68-57. Will Charlotte Elite Academy repeat their success, or does Comenius have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
