Mid-Lakes recap November 5, 2013
Strafford added to the longest winning streak in Mid-Lakes this week by beating Houston, 54-0. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Dylan Cogdill was a key player and the best on defense this week as Strafford bested the Tigers. The 6-foot-0 senior forced 1 fumble.
Jacob Wade threw for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 10-16 with 1 interception.
Logan Allred was a passing and rushing force as Ash Grove beat Stockton. Allred's key target this week was Brandon Gravelin, who caught 2 passes for 93 yards.
Allred was a beast in the backfield as the Pirates topped the Tigers.
Wade put up the best numbers in passing as Tim Hester's team bested Houston. Wade's favorite target this week was Dallas Hester, who caught 3 passes for 80 yards.
The Indians' Wade and Hester have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Wade has thrown for 2,395 yards this season, while Hester has 55 catches for 981 yards. Ash Grove's Allred leads the league in rushing yards with 2,103.
Hester of the Strafford's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 19 receiving yards in this week's game against Mountain Grove to get there. So far this year, he has acheived 55 catches for 981 yards.
Pleasant Hope made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,561 from 12,917. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 71-0 victory over the Pirates last week.
