The Greene County Wildcats just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Davidson Warriors at 4:45 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Greene County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
On Thursday, Greene County humbled Stone with a 50-9 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-3.
Greene County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rakhiya Moody led the charge by scoring ten points. Moody has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Hope Bolton was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Davidson entered their tilt with Vigor with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Davidson strolled past Vigor with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 50-31. Given Davidson's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Vigor is ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Greene County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Davidson, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.
