St. Stephens lost to South Caldwell back in April of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Indians really took it to the Spartans for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-2 victory. Considering the Indians have won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Stephens didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Heath Alejo also made 12 total tackles, which is notable because St. Stephens is 3-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise.

St. Stephens is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.5 points on average over those games. As for South Caldwell, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, St. Stephens will square off against Watauga at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for South Caldwell, they will face off against Alexander Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.56 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
