The Sheridan Blackhawks will take on the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Lapel likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Sheridan took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-33 win over Tri-Central. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Sheridan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenzie Garner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Garner's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Timme, who went 9 of 16 en route to 18 points and six steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lapel beat Anderson 53-48 on Thursday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Indians are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sheridan better keep an eye on Laniah Wills. She was instrumental in Lapel's win, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. Wills is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 12 or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Goodwin, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 15 points.
Lapel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Sheridan, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sheridan has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lapel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Sheridan suffered a grim 65-40 defeat to Lapel in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Will Sheridan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
