Palma is 3-0 against Alisal since October of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Palma Chieftains will square off against the Alisal Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Palma comes in on three and Alisal on seven.
Last Friday, Palma's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Menlo-Atherton.
Palma can attribute much of their success to Eli Dukes, who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Thomas Nunes, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Palma's defense and their six sacks. Menlo-Atherton's QB won't forget Ryan Sanders anytime soon given Sanders sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Alisal put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Scotts Valley.
Palma's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points per game. As for Alisal, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Everything came up roses for Palma against Alisal when the teams last played back in September as the squad secured a 42-15 victory. Does Palma have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alisal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
