Softball Recap: Pleasanton Has No Trouble Against Devine

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wimberley, Pleasanton was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Devine Warhorses / Arabians 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Scarlet Travis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Travis was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Araceli Hernandez was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Aniya Carrillo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Pleasanton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Devine, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9-1.

Coming up, Pleasanton will take on Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Devine, they will square off against Sinton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warhorses / Arabians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
