Volleyball Recap: Fulshear's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After flying high against Tomas on Tuesday, Fulshear came back down to earth. The Chargers fell just short of the Tompkins Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Fulshear started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-7.

Leading Tompkins to victory were Lainey Monroe and Olivia Beatty. Monroe had 16 digs and seven assists, while Beatty had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Beatty has posted over her last six contests. Isabelle Ochu also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Fulshear's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Tompkins, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Fulshear will be taking part in a tournament against Stratford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tompkins, they will be playing at home against Lake Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
