After a string of three wins, Blue Springs's good fortune finally ran out on Sunday. They fell 70-63 to the Battle Spartans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Tyler Putnam had an outrageously good game for Battle as he went 8 of 9 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Putnam a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Vernell Holt, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Blue Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Battle, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Blue Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-48 win against Liberty on the 30th. As for Battle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-48 victory against Raytown South on the 30th.
