Basketball Recap: Billingsley Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Ellwood Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Billingsley, they should've done a better job of containing Alana Jones. The Billingsley Bears blew past the Ellwood Christian Eagles 58-15 on Thursday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 33 games she's played dating back to last season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliyah McCary, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds. Those 11 points gave her a new career-high.

Billingsley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.3 points. As for Ellwood Christian, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Billingsley will welcome LAMP at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Ellwood Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
