Gobles will be up against a hot Lawton squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Blue Devils put the hurt on Hackett Catholic Prep with a sharp 15-1 victory on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Allison Murphy was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gia Bridges, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Kinsley Smith was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Lawton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gobles challenged Kellogg on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Panthers. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Kylee Killeen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Killeen was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Daisy Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kelsee Sherrod, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Gobles' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Lawton, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Lawton's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Blue Devils have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Gobles, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lawton continue to outrun the ball?
