While it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, the Fontainebleau Bulldogs were not quite the Slidell Tigers's equal in the second half on Friday. Fontainebleau took a 51-36 bruising from Slidell. It was the first time this season that Fontainebleau let down their fans at home.
Fontainebleau's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leila Neal, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Brooklynne Callahan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Fontainebleau struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fontainebleau's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Slidell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Fontainebleau will head out on the road to face off against St. Joseph's Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Slidell, they will be playing at home against Wright at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
