The Wilson Lakemen entered their tilt with the Grand Island Vikings with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Wilson took down Grand Island 60-41 on Friday. Wilson pushed the score to 50-27 by the end of the third, a deficit Grand Island cut but never quite recovered from.
Rian Faery was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 19 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton McInnis, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Wilson's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Grand Island, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Wilson will head out on the road to square off against East Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grand Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
