The Lincoln Southeast Knights entered their tilt with the Lincoln East Spartans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lincoln Southeast strolled past Lincoln East with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-40. Given Lincoln Southeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Lincoln East is ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln Southeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taye Moore, who scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mike Ngoyi, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Lincoln East still got an impressive performance from Carter Mick, who scored 18 points. Mick hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Jang Dak was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Lincoln Southeast is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Lincoln East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Lincoln Southeast will face off against Fremont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fremont will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Lincoln East will take on Lincoln Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lincoln Southwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
