The FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 14th straight loss. They fell to Franklin County 69-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), FAMU DRS still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why FAMU DRS lost, one person who can't be blamed is Fred Ervin. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Ervin scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydence Triggs, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ethan Kembro continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Franklin County, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Jeremiah Allen was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
FAMU DRS dropped their record down to 2-21 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Franklin County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
FAMU DRS is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Lions on February 6th. L.E.A.D. Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 267 points over their last four matches. As for Franklin County, they will be playing at home against the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wakulla Christian School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
