The Stratford Tigers will head out to square off against the Phillips Loggers at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Stratford duked it out with Newman Catholic on Thursday. The Tigers never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Tria Tubbs made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Stratford let Reese Spindler and Carly Pankratz run wild. Spindler went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Pankratz went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Pankratz has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Knetter, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Stratford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newman Catholic struck out nine times.
Hurley typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Phillips proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Northstars with a sharp 8-1 win.
Annaka Tobias made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Tobias was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Trinity Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Delaney Fore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Stratford's record is now 9-6. As for Phillips, their record now sits at 11-5.
Stratford got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Phillips by a conclusive 13-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
