On Friday, the O'Fallon Panthers faced the Lincoln Railsplitters in a battle between two of the state's top teams. O'Fallon fell 62-55 to the Railsplitters. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
O'Fallon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carolyn Foster, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Haeli Tart, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
O'Fallon's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-7. As for Lincoln, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 29-0.
O'Fallon will head out on the road to square off against the Kahoks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Redbirds at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Alton is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
