York-Adams I recap Sept. 26, 2012
Central York was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in York-Adams I. The Panthers beat Susquehannock 43-0 earlier in the week.
Spring Grove moved up to 302 from 424 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rockets climbed the ranks as a result of a 42-11 win over Kennard-Dale.
Corey Hartz put up the best numbers through the air as Central York topped the Warriors. He finished with a total of nine completions for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Hartz's favorite target this week was Marquis Fells, who caught four passes for 89 yards.
Seth Haight was the best wideout in the league this week as Red Lion fell to West York Area. Haight tallied six receptions for 90 yards. Mitch Baublitz helped Red Lion's passing attack out by catching two balls for 30 yards.
Robert Catchings was the most productive running back in York-Adams I this week. He ran for 163 yards on 21 carries as Dallastown lost to the Bulldogs. Teammate Damoni Weaver added to the ground attack by rushing for 77 yards.
Brad Livingston's team's Hartz and Fells have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hartz has thrown for 787 yards this season, while Fells, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 15 catches for 354 yards. South Western's Dillon Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 470.
The Mustangs took down New Oxford 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Thomas ran for 141 yards and caught one passes for nine yards in the win.
