The biggest upset of the week belonged to Stevenson, who defeated 648th ranked Soledad, 39-35. Alec Negri threw for 266 yards and 4 touchdowns during the win.
Fans got a thrill when Negri and Keene Burns connected against the Aztecs. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in Mission Trail this season.
The Pirates' dynamic duo of Negri and Grant Peszynski proved to be unstoppable against Soledad, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kazim Apaydin helped Stevenson's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 52 yards.
Connor Marden was a passing and rushing force as Carmel bested King City. He completed 9 passes for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 168 yards.
He went 13-30 with 1 interception.
Carmel's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Padres feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Marden has thrown for 740 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while William Kehoe has 16 catches for 325 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pacific Grove takes on the Aztecs. The Breakers are currently in second, while Soledad is in fifth.
The Padres' Marden recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Mustangs last week. Marden's team topped King City as he sprinted for 57 yards on the play and finished with 168 in all.
